Why Students Score Low in Psychology (And How to Fix It)

Psychology is one of the easiest scoring subjects in CBSE Class 11/12 — if you avoid these common mistakes.

Mistake 1: Vague definitions Bad answer: "Memory is when you remember things." Good answer: "Memory is a mental process that involves encoding, storing, and retrieving information."

Mistake 2: No examples Every definition in NCERT can earn extra marks with a relevant example. If you define "reinforcement," add: "e.g., a teacher gives a star sticker when a student answers correctly."

Mistake 3: Ignoring the mark breakdown 2-mark answers need 2 points. 6-mark answers need an introduction, 4 points, and a conclusion. Students lose marks by writing too little — or too much.
